Description

PULP FILL is an endodontic cement used as an intracanal filling material. It consists of a powder that mixes easily with a liquid to create a viscous mixture, which is utilized with gutta-percha cones. The cement is formed through a reaction between Zinc Oxide and Eugenol, resulting in zinc eugenolate in the presence of water. The resin included improves mixing characteristics and delays the setting time. Radiopacity is enhanced by the addition of Bismuth and Barium salts. The formulation of PULP FILL meets the criteria established by GROSSMAN for an ideal endodontic filling cement, which includes: adhesiveness, perfect closure, radiopacity, small particle size, no contraction upon placement, no staining of tooth structure, antibacterial action, slow hardening, insolubility in tissue liquids, biocompatibility, and the ability to be removed with common solvents if necessary.
